Georgia Therapist for Black Women
You Look Fine. But Inside, Something's Off. Let's Talk About That.
Perfectly Imperfect Counseling Services is a Georgia-based therapy practice for Black women and first generation achievers who are high-functioning, burned out, and ready to understand what's actually driving the patterns. Serving clients virtually across Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
What Nobody's Saying Out LoudThe Exhaustion Nobody Sees.
The Thoughts That Won't Turn Off.
The Guilt When You Finally Sit Down.
Here's what it actually looks like when you're running on empty and still showing up for everyone:
You replay conversations feeling like you did something wrong
You say yes when you mean no, and then feel resentful about it
You can't sit still without feeling like you should be doing something
You're quick to react and you feel bad after
You keep ending up in the same challenging relationship patterns
You avoid your feelings by keeping busy
You're exhausted in a way that sleep doesn't fix.
Here's What Happens When You Reach Out.
Not knowing what to expect is one of the biggest reasons people wait. So here's exactly what the first steps look like, from your first message to your first session.
Send a Message
Fill out the contact form or request a free 15-minute consultation directly from the website. There's no wrong way to start. You don't need to have your words together. You just need to reach out.
We Talk First
The 15-minute consultation is a real conversation, not a sales call. You can tell me what's been going on, ask anything you want, and get a feel for how I work. Nothing is off the table.
We Decide Together
There's no pressure to commit on the call. If it feels like a fit, we'll schedule your first full session. If you need more time, that's fine too. This is your process. We move at your pace.
Ask Me Anything
You don't have to figure out if therapy is right for you before you call. That's what the consultation is for. Ask me how I work, what sessions look like, what we actually do together.
Hey! I’m Jennifer!
Real Talk From Someone Who Gets It.
I know that pattern from the inside. I'm a recovering people pleaser who spent years doing for everyone else before I learned what it felt like to actually listen to myself. I've navigated the same dynamics, the same guilt, the same exhaustion that tells you to keep going when what you really need is to stop.
That's why I do this work. And it's why I trust it.
Sessions with me aren't one-size therapy. We might talk, breathe, move, or take the session outside if that's what the moment calls for. I follow you. Nothing you bring is too much. And I'll be honest with you in a way that feels like support, not judgment.
Ways to Work With Your Georgia Therapist
One-on-One Therapy for Women
This is for the woman who is tired of managing it and ready to understand it. We work through talking, breathing, moving, and listening to what your body has been trying to say, virtually across four states, at a pace that's yours.
Group Programs (Coming Soon)
Women's Groups: For women who want to do this work inside a community. Groups are focused, time-limited, and built around specific experiences: boundaries, self-care, first-generation identity, and more. Because some things heal faster when you're not the only one in the room who gets it.
Therapy Intensive (Coming Soon)
Therapy Intensives: Some things need more than 50 minutes a week. Intensives are extended sessions, 90 minutes to two hours, designed to go deeper, faster. If you're in the middle of something big and need more space to work through it, this is built for that.
Maybe you've been managing this so long it feels normal.
Maybe you think you should be able to figure this out on your own.
Maybe you're not sure things are bad enough to warrant help.
Here's What's PossibleLife on the Other Side of This Work
You stop replaying the conversation and start trusting that you handled it well enough.
You notice your body tighten before your brain catches up, and you know what to do with that.
You show up for your kids, your clients, your people, from a full place instead of an empty one.
You have a hard conversation and don't need to disappear for two days afterward.
You stop asking yourself if you did something wrong every time someone seems upset.
You feel like yourself again. And you realize you've been waiting a long time for that.

No. You don't have to hit a breaking point to deserve support. If something feels off and you're tired of managing it on your own, that's enough of a reason to call.
-
It's a real conversation. We talk about what's going on, figure out what's underneath it, and work through it together. Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we slow down and listen to what your body is telling you. I follow your lead.

Yes, I currently accept Aetna, United Healthcare, Oscar, and Optum. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a feel for how I work before we get into any of the logistics.
-
That's actually one of the most common things I hear. A lot of women have tried therapy that stayed in the head and never got to the root. My approach goes deeper than talking. If it didn't work before, that doesn't mean it won't work now.
